Merry Christmas

So we got a great Christmas surprise this morning. We got some carolers from Washington. My family, minus my sister(she has to work) surprised us by driving down.

Sorry it's sideways.

Reindeer Food

"Sprinkle on the lawn at night, Rudolph's nose will make it sparkle bright,
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam, This will guide them to your home."
Grayson really had no idea what he was doing.
But running around throwing "Reindeer Food" all over was so much fun!

Blakley is wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

Santa

On Saturday we took Grayson and Blakley to see Santa! Grayson wasn't so sure about the jolly ol' guy.
As you can see from the picture he just stood there and stared at him.
Daddy had to step in and help Grayson get anywhere near Santa.

Blakley was just all smiles. She is a funny girl!

Snow

Since we found out we were moving to Reno I was excited about the weather change and the thought of getting some snow in the winter. Come to find out where we live, about 45 min east of Reno, doesn't get a lot on snow. So when we woke up this morning and there was some snow on the ground I took Grayson out to play.
He wasn't so sure what to do. He just kinda walked around
trying to figure out what this stuff was.

When Blakley woke up I did the mother thing
and had to take her out to get a picture too.

This was a little later Grayson was out having fun with Baxter until her jumped up and knocked him over. oops! He was done playing after that.

6 Months!

Baby girl is 6 months old!
Stats
Weight: 13.6lbs
Height: 26.5in
This is the new way she sits in her bumbo. After about 30 seconds she turns and hangs over the side like that. She actually was able to get out of it the other day. I'm not sure how she did it but she was able to get herself out.
Is this what he are in store for? 6 months old and already lovin' on the cell phone.

Grayson

Grayson is 23months, I cant believe I'll have a two year old in a month!
He is so much fun but does have his moments.
He loves to be just like mommy and daddy. Any chance he can get he will
come sit at the desk and pretend to work on the computer.
This is his favorite way to watch a movie. Just like daddy he loves his popcorn!
We have these moments quite often. When he doesn't get what he wants, when he drops something, when he don't understand him, when he wants out attention.
I feel like these moments stem from the fact that he is being very stubborn about talking. He understands us pretty good but when is comes to talking he just wont use his words.
He loves to put peoples shoes on. Here he asked me to put his sisters shoes on.
So pretty in pink! :)
My favorite is when he puts daddy's shoes on. You can also see in this picture some of his cars. He will pick two cars out in the morning and drag them everywhere with him all day.
This just makes me laugh. He took the spray bottle and soaked himself. I tired showing him how to spay it forward but he insisted on spraying it in his face.

What We've Been Up To

We really haven't been up to much the weather has gotten
cold and we usually hang out inside playing.
This is Grayson's new thing to do. Every time I open the
fridge he will sit on the bottom ledge so I can't close it.

This was from a few weeks ago but Blakley has learned how to roll over. She has learned how to get that arm out from under her and when you set her down she will immediately roll over.
Grayson loves to pretend to play games with Daddy. Although lately he seems to watch more intently so no more watching daddy play.

We also gave Blakley a puff the other day for the first time. She gets so excited when she sees we're about to give her one.

Big Girl Bath

So the other day I gave Blakley a bath in her Bumbo.
She loved it!
Although she was too light to keep it sunk, so it made it hard to actually bathe her. I had to hold the bumbo down with one hand while trying to wash her with the other.
What a cutie all bundled up after bath time!

Trunk-or-Treat

So we weren't sure if he was going to get the whole trick-0r-treat concept but after a few cars he realized what was going go.

This was the first car we went to, he just kinda stood back to looked. I had to walk him up and put his bucket up.

He also would occasionally just stop and start going through his candy.

"Hey daddy I know what's in the bowl, give me some!"

Blakley got all bundled up and it doesn't look like she enjoyed it much.

Carving Pumpkins

Grayson loved helping us carve pumpkins. He was so surprised to see what was inside.
He favorite part was playing with the pumpkin goop. He wouldn't really touch it but he loved playing in it with the spoons.
Once Dad started poking and carving all Grayson wanted to do was sit on his lap and watch, it make it kind of hard for dad to do anything but it was cuteSo I tried to get him to play in the goop but instead he tried to eat it.
The the result was him trying to scrap it off his tongue and making gross faces.
It's been fun a fun holiday with him with year!

My LITTLE Girl

We had her 4 month check up last week. She is growing well and healthy.
At 4 months Grayson was 17.8 lbs, Blakley is 11.1lbs!

She is just so small but so much fun. She is so close to rolling over but her little arm keeps getting in the way. She loves to stick her tongue out which results in slobber all over. She hates tummy time and usually ends up spitting up while on her tummy. She has been in her room for about a month now and does great! Here she is in her Halloween jammies getting read for a Halloween party. I have a cute little custom for her but I think she'll be too small for it.

In the last few weeks she has gone from taking great naps during the day to not really napping at all. So by the end of the day she looks like this, red eyes and totally lethargic. Poor girl I hope I can get her on a good nap schedule soon.

Pumpkin Patch

We ventured out to the pumpkin patch and Grayson had a great time. Blakley as usual slept most of the time. Grayson wondered the patch until he found his pumpkin. He actually tried to pick up almost all of them as he walked by.
They had lots of fun activities. A kid sized corn maze, an art barn, a big tee pee, an old tractor to climb on, a corn box(like a sand box but with corn) and a petting zoo.
Grayson didn't get far into the maze and wanted Kevin to hold him as they walked through.
He LOVED the animals!
He was funny while feeding the goats. He wouldn't just let them eat out of his hand, he had to pick out each little piece and try to put it in their mouths.
He loved the animals so much he was trying to give them kisses.

New Room

So this last weekend we put Blakley in her own room.
That first night was a little hard but she did great!

She looks so grown up, what happened to my little baby?!

September 30, 2010

A Little Small

So we got the jump-a-roo out for Blakley a few weeks ago. She loves it but just isn't heavy enough to actually jump.
Her little feet hang about 4 inches above the floor.

Weekend In SLC

We had a whirl wind of a weekend, but it so fun to see family! Thursday morning we drove the 8 hours and the kids did soo well! Friday we got up early to get to the SLC temple by 7:30 for my cousins wedding. While sitting there waiting Elder Holland walked by, so neat! The ceremony was wonderful and it was nice to be in the temple! Grayson loved walking around the grounds and playing with my cousins son. After pictures we of course had to hit up Attic Circle. We enjoyed our food while Gryason played. That night we went to the reception where Grayson ran around again. Blakley was passed around all day (it was nice to have so much family around to watch the kids). It was a long day but despite the lack of good naps the kids did good.
Saturday we were able to go to some of my cousins football games, hang out with family and eat at a great Mexican place "El Matador".

Loving the temple!

Hanging with dad while taking pictures
Tyring to give Boston a high five.(that's my cousins son, only 24 days a part. wish we lived closer so they could pay)
Grandpa helping him up the slide. He wouldn't go up the stairs.
Sitting on the old Model-T.
Blakley hanging out with Great-Grandma at the foot ball game.

I Did It!

So I saw this cool square wreath at one of the blogs I follow. I thought I could do that. I went out and got everything to make it(spent $7 and didn't even use all the leaves I bought or the mini pumpkins and gourds)

This is what I ended up with.

Boys Will Be Boys

Here are some videos of Grayson from the last few weeks.
As we were putting the pool away we found a grasshopper in it. Kevin caught it and Grayson loved watching it hop around. Until Jojo ruined the fun(she decided to eat it).

(don't mind our lame backyard and the fact that Grayson doesn't have pants on,
he spilled on them and it was almost bedtime so I didn't bother putting any back on)
Boy all the way, laughing at farting noises.

Spoons And Forks

I have a confession to make. I have not let Grayson use spoons and forks because I am kinda weird about him getting super messy while he eats. He has used them but never with food he can make a mess with. But at 20 months I think it's time to get over my messy fear and let him feed himself with utensils.

This was the first time I let him use a spoon with "messy" food. He dripped a little just on the top of his jammies and for course got on his face but nothing too bad. So I thought maybe this wont be so bad.

This was the next time. I'm glad I thought to take his shirt off. He has it all over his face(hard to see but even in his eye lashes), hands covered in yogurt, all down his chest and his tray was covered.

This made me want to rethink to whole spoon and fork thing. He doesn't need to use utensils right?! I'll get over my fear...I hope...
